Use of Satellite Recovers Stolen Trucks and Merchandise
Robbers of mercantile trucks have obligated companies to install miniature tracking
devices in their trucks that are connected to satellites that allow them to know their
exact location. With this system the Dirección de Investigación de Robo de Vehículos de
la PNP (Dirove) have recovered 2 trucks in Trujillo and Lima.
On the 28th of November, agents of the Dirove gained the knowledge that 8 subjects were
transferring the stolen truck from Trujillo to Chimbote.
The police caught up to them at kilometer marker 426 on the Panamerican Northbound. The
driver confessed that the shipment of rice and the truck were left behind in Trujillo.
Officials traveled to Trujillo and with the D.A., Elisa Malaver Prieto, they were able
to recover 600 satchels of rice in urbanized Santo Domingo. Captured were Catalino
Cueva(43) and Roger Alberto Silva Suito (39).
The Dirove also found the truck belonging to Transmosa Enterprises that was attacked at
7:15 pm on the first of December in Monterrico, Lima by armed robbers. The vehicle,
found 3 hours later, was carrying detergent to be distributed in the south of Lima.
These kind of remote device use GPS technology control that allows you to pinpoint an
exact location on the earth.
